Poesie is an app-based, poetry book club. You can download our app on the iTunes app store here: App Store. We've been featured as the App of the Day by Apple, and our readership community includes over a thousand members from all around the world.
Mission
The goal of our app is to make it easy and enjoyable to carve out time each day for poetry. We offer a curated daily program, interactive and educational reading experiences, and a supportive community to help you build and sustain a habit of reading poetry.
We also have a goal of contributing to the broader poetry ecosystem. Poesie is funded entirely by membership fees from our community, with the goal of being a self-sustaining business that can (1) send payments to poets and publishing houses, and (2) pay salary to our curators and app builders. As of 2023, we have paid out over $24,000 to poets and publishers.
Features
The main focus of our app is bringing together readers every morning to read our curated poem-of-the-day program. We feature a different poet every week, alternating between classic and contemporary poets.
Readers learn about featured poets at the start of the week and then read selections from the poet each morning. All of our poems are interactive, and readers can discuss, annotate, and even upload recordings of each poem.
Along with our curated poem-of-the-day, the app offers:
